Overview of Activity
This activity teaches young people about different hobbies and how it can affect your mental health in a positive way
Description of Activity
1. Bring in resources related to your chosen hobby (a guitar, a sketch or painting, a book, for example)

2. Videos/images/PowerPoints are also appropriate to use

3. Sitting in a circle, take turns to show your resource/prop and talk about your hobby:

When did you start the hobby?

Why did you start the hobby?

Did you start it on your own or with friends?

Did your parents or someone else introduce you to the hobby?

Importantly, talk about how it affects your mental health:

How do you feel when you are doing it?

Are you thinking about playing/doing your hobby when you are not playing/doing?

4. Once everybody has shared, participants are given the chance to then share their thoughts on what has been shared.
